Hi there! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon where you are, just as we are in beautiful Memphis, TN.

We are excited to offer a new service to our customers. We now offer Photo Editing and Restoration. (Visit our Editing and Restoration Services Tab for more information and pricing.)

Many times, we take pictures of family, loved ones, friends, scenes that we love, but once we view our images, we may then see something in the background we wish was not there, or there's just something missing that we wish we could put our finger on, that would turn this snapshot into a GREAT Image!!

We can help with our Editing Services. We can remove distracting elements of an image, we can correct minor flaws or issues, we can enhance/change the background, just about anything that will turn that snapshot into a wonderful treasured memory to enjoy for years to come. Here are a few "before and after" images to show you just a few examples of what can be done:

Many of us have lots of old, frail, deteriorating images of loved ones, places we've been, things that mean a lot to us. They are cracked, fading, peeling, perhaps have mold and water damage, etc. We wish we could preserve them. Well....now you can. We offer Restoration Services to help you do just that. We can help preserve those old images and bring them back to life for you to have for a long time.

Day 3 of 30 Day Challenge - Clouds

The theme for Day 3 of the 30 Day Challenge is Clouds! Anyone who knows me, knows that I love nature photography. I love doing scenic and landscape shots just as much as I enjoy portrait photography. Trying to capture that "perfect scene" is what I always strive for. I love sharing those beautiful scenes with others.

God's world is just so beautiful if you just open your eyes and look around. This shot was taken while I was riding in the passenger side of the car with Hubby driving at Shelby Farms in Memphis, TN. I saw the rays coming down, thought it was beautiful, leaned out the window and snapped a few. Remember....take your camera with you everywhere you go cause you never know what you may see!

Okay, I haven't looked at tomorrow's theme. I don't want to peek until tomorrow so it will be a total surprise to me! :) See you then!! Have a blessed evening everyone and an awesome weekend!

Day 2 of 30 Day Challenge - What I Wore Today...uh...Tonight!

Okay, Day 2 of the 30 Day Photography Challenge came and went and I was not able to get it on my Blog until today (because of Flickr issues). Sorry about being "a day late and a dollar short!" :)

The theme was "What I wore today" and it was so interesting to see all the different ideas that others came up with for the challenge. It wasn't just about clothes either - there were lots of pictures of jewelry, makeup, shoes, etc. It was so much fun seeing the various interpretations!

Of course, this is NOT what I wore to work! Oh my goodness....NO! :) But...once I'm home I like to get comfy, chill, settle in on the love seat and watch T.V....and these are the best chilling clothes - my gray sweats and my "I <3 NY" tank top given to me by my sweet Hubby from a business trip to New York. He does stuff like that! Just about everywhere he goes, he will try to find something to bring home to me and I love it. Oh, and I love Him too!!!! :) Well, I'll see you all tomorrow for Day 3 of the challenge. The theme is "Clouds!" That will be fun!

I've decided to do a photo challenge. Never done one before, but I think it's about time. I don't think I could ever make it through a 365 day a year challenge but this is only a 30-day challenge. So, during the month of June, I will be posting a picture each day that falls under the theme for that day! Hmmmm....we'll see how good I do at completing this challenge!!! I Heart Faces: Bubbles Photo Challenge

My first ever "I Heart Faces" Photo Challenge.
I've always wanted to enter one of these and just never took the time to figure all the details out for doing so. When I saw the "Bubble" theme, I KNEW I had to do it, because I just love this BUBBLE Photo. She looked like a little Fairy Princess staring at the bubble. And, YES, the bubble is real and was not Photoshopped in. It actually floated right in front of her face and burst on her nose right after this photo was snapped. Hope you enjoy!

And by the way, we got some really great shots during this session and I'll share more later. Thank you for looking.

Hannah Banana!

Man, I just LOVE my job! Do you know just how much fun it is to capture such precious moments as I did recently with little Hannah and her parents? Children are such a joy and so much fun....take a look at her sneak peek!

Mommy did a great job of decorating Hannah's room...the bright blues and yellows were so cute and so inviting...great job, Mom!

I think Hannah must have recently discovered her tongue cause she and her Daddy sure were having fun trying to determine who could stick theirs out the most!

Hannah was so sweet and so cooperative...for a while...then, it was like...."Okay, Lady...enough already!"

I knew when it was time to quit! :)

I absolutely adore doing baby and family sessions. I had the privilege of doing a session with six-month old Brooklyn and her parents recently and, oh my goodness, what a sweeet couple and a precious baby girl.

Summer Time is High School Senior Time!

Summer is a great time for upcoming Seniors! They are excited about that final year in school...checking out colleges, where are they going, what are they going to be...so many decisions.

It's also a fun time! And one of those FUN things is Senior Pictures. Here's a sneak peek from one of them. Lindsey was a doll and so much fun...quite the model! We had a great time!

Georgia.....On My Mind

Not long ago I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet little girl and her family. She was a referral from another friend and I had a great time getting to know them and getting some fun shots. At first, Georgia didn't know what to think and no matter what, she was determined not to smile as you can see. But she was still so stinkin' cute, I just kept shooting!!

She finally began to warm up and, man, did we have fun! She was such a little Princess!

Then we got Mommy into the act. You can see where Georgia got her good looks!

My Blog - A Work in Progress!

I am absolutely SO excited!!!! My new BLOG page is taking shape, literally, as we speak!! Rita of Rita's Coffeeshop fame is my co-editor at the moment (I should say "Chief Editor!") and is doing an amazing job of helping me tweak and fine tune my web presence and my Blog. She is amazing and you should really, really go check her out!! She is on Flickr, she Twitters (I think), she is just amazing. She spends her time (when she is not being Mommy to two precious little boys, and wife to a wonderful husband and taking care of snakes in the chicken coop, etc.) to create wonderful, wonderful Photoshop and Photoshop Elements Actions, Templates, Textures, Tutorials, etc. for those of us who don't have a clue how to! And the amazing thing is.....she graciously shares those talents and gifts of hers with all the rest of us....absolutely FREE. Yep!!! You heard me......FREE! Expecting their first Baby...

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to do a maternity session with Sam and Alicia. They are such a precious couple within our circle of church friends and are expecting their first baby - a little girl. We did a photo session a few weeks ago and had a ball. They are so sweet and just plain fun! Here are a few from that session. We plan to do another one very soon to get some of the "belly" shots that all of us love.

Well, I guess you'd say I'm just a "late bloomer!" All this Internet stuff is new to me to a degree. As soon as I learn what the term "blog" means, then I hear about "My Space." Okay...everyone has a "My Space" page so off I go to try to figure that out and get up to speed on it. I was SO PROUD of myself for creating a My Space page and thought, "Man, I'm Rockin" now. Ha! That's what I thought!

Then all of a sudden I hear the term "Face Book!" A church friend tells me I "just must" get on Facebook....so what do I do? What any normal, sane person would do....I create a Facebook page! All is well with me..........

So...now...what is this "Twitter" I hear everyone talk about!??? Oh my goodness, I think that is where I'm gonna draw the line for a while. I have too much to keep up with and to do, to go running off "tweeting!" Man, just thinking about all this makes my brain tired!! Good Night, Everyone! Blessings to all and I'll be back here soon!!

Time to Catch Up and UPDATE my Blog!

Well, I've been away for too long. It seems most of the time that there are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done that I wish to do. Between working full-time for a computer software company, trying to maintain my photography business, be a wife, best friend and soulmate to my wonderful husband, be Mommy to our two dogs, plus be chief cook and bottle washer, house cleaner, etc. I simply run out of hours to work on a blog or Twitter or Facebook or Flickr! Hey....do you think we could learn to clone ourselves so we could get it all done?? :)

Anyway, I said all that to say this....I'm going to try my best to update my Blog and to keep it current and interesting so at least one or two people might actually come visit!!!

I'm going to try to find time to upload a few sneak peeks of the last couple of shoots I have done to show all of you what I've been working on. Then in a week and a half it's off to Wyoming for vacation. And...a much needed one at that. So stay tuned......

First of all, I am a wife, mother, and friend to people I love very much. I am a born again child of God and am truly blessed to be able to pursue a career doing what I love - Photography. My hobby has now turned into a wonderful profession and I couldn't be happier.

Editing & Restoration Services

We offer our photo editing and restoration services to help you bring out the beauty of images that YOU take or to help you preserve those old images that you don't want to lose. Do you have an image that you just love except for the clutter in the background or a distracting element in the image that you wish was not there? Do you have old family images that you wish to preserve before they deteriorate, that are cracked, peeling, fading, torn, that you wish to preserve before they get beyond repairable?

Do you want a professional eye to look at your image and help you determine the best crop, the best angle perhaps, or help you in determining what might be done to make your snapshot become a great image?

We can help. You can send us your image digitally (at the highest resolution possible) or if within the greater Memphis area, you can provide your images to our consultants who will scan your original image and return to you. We will then edit the scanned image and send you the full-resolution edited image electronically via email or provide you with the high resolution image on a CD that may then be picked up.

Pricing varies depending on the complexity of the editing process.

Simple edit - $10
Advanced edit - $20
Complex edit - $25 and up. We will look at the image, determine the time involved in preserving the image and give you a quote before editing/restoration is begun.

This fee includes the time and talent of our professional editors to complete the edit and return a high-resolution image to you in digital format. If you want the image on a CD there is a $5.00 charge for the CD.

We then offer printing services should you wish to have the image printed in our professional lab. See our "Session Info & Fees" tab for print pricing.

Simply send your image(s) electronically to stillsweet@bellsouth.net. Please put "Editing Services" in the subject line and send the full resolution (highest resolution possible) image. Please provide your contact information (name, phone number, etc.) and what edits you would like done to your image. A consultant will contact you to discuss edits and pricing. Payment must be made by cash, check or Paypal prior to the start of editing/restoration process. A low-resolution watermarked proof of your edited image will be sent to you for approval prior to providing the full-resoltuion, un-watermarked image.

"Capturing Today's Special Moments.....Creating Tomorrow's Treasured Memories"

...that is what we strive to do at Still Sweet Photography. When you are ready to create memories of the wonderful, exciting events taking place in your life, please allow us to help you "capture" those moments and "create" lasting memories.

I do “on location” as well as "in studio" photography. This means the location of your session is completely up to you. If you are planning an outdoor session, please remember that early mornings or late afternoons are the best time for optimal lighting.

If you are interested in a newborn session, please call and book your appointment before the birth of your child so we can plan accordingly. Then be sure to let me know when your little one arrives so I can ensure a date is reserved for you. The best time to photograph newborns is within the first 2 weeks of life. This allows for those darling curled up poses that are so precious.

What to wear for your session…
Keep it Simple! Newborns and babies are best photographed in nothing. I will have darling wraps, hats, and other cute items to use for your little one. If you have items that have special meaning to you, we definitely want to incorporate them into your session to create those lasting memories.

Clothing choices are very important for great portraits. Please avoid large logos and prints. If we are shooting more than one subject, please dress them in coordinating outfits. You don’t have to be “matchy-matchy” but sticking with the same style and the same color scheme works nicely for family portraits.

YOUR INVESTMENT

Session fees include photographer's time on day of session, portrait consultation (either in person or by phone) prior to photo session, travel to and from location of your choice within a 25 mile radius of photographer's home base, the time and artistic talent of photographer to professionally post-process, retouch, and enhance the beauty of your images, and a CD with 20 - 25 low-resolution, watermarked digital images to use in making your print selections. Images on the CD are great for sharing with family and friends online via e-mail, and may be used for Facebook, My Space, etc. They MAY NOT be used for copying or printing purposes since the low resolution image will not give good quality print results. This is also an infringement of copyright laws.

Session fees do not include prints unless otherwise noted. A non-refundable $50 retainer fee is due at time of booking to reserve your date and time, with balance of session fee due on day of session. Payment may be made by cash, check or PayPal.

Individual or Family Portrait Session - $175

Includes up to two (2) hours of photographer's time for up to 4 people in same family at location of your choice. This also includes one 8x10 and two 5x7 professional prints of the same pose. There is a $20 fee for each additional person.

SPECIALITY SESSIONS:

Belly to Baby Session - $349

Includes a 90-minute session with Mom (and Dad, if desired) in studio or on location, done between 32 - 36 weeks of pregnancy, and a 1-3 hour newborn session done between 3 - 14 days old in the studio or on location. Session includes CD with 20-25 low-res, watermarked images from each session for sharing with family and friends, one 8x10 and two 5x7 professional prints from each session. Additional prints may be purchased separately.

Senior Session - $325

Includes 2-3 hour session with up to 3 clothing changes, done at up to 3 locations within the Memphis city limits. Session will include CD with 20 - 25 low-res, watermarked images for sharing with family and friends, two 8x10, two 5x7 and eight wallet-size professional prints of the same pose. Additional prints may be purchased separately.

Baby's First Year - $575

Includes newborn, 4 months, 9 months and one-year sessions, each up to two hours long in studio or on location. Package includes CD with 20-25 low-res, watermarked images from each session for sharing with family and friends, one 8x10 professional print from each session and a mini-memory book of baby's first year. Additional prints and deluxe memory books may be purchased separately.

Fine Art Gallery Wraps

Our Gallery Wraps are printed on fine art canvas that meets the Archival Standards for pH and light fastness, with a water resistant finish and heavy, flexible weave, and are wrapped around a 1.5 inch width wooden stretcher frame. They come with a protective gel coating which is recommended for prints that will not be displayed behind glass and arrive ready to hang. We offer gallery wraps as follows:
